MICHAEL C. RICHARDS, PH.D, D.MIN., LGSW, CLINICAL
​AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Mike serves at the Clinical and Executive Director of Cornerstone Pastoral Counseling and Wellness Center, which provides life coaching, marriage counseling, and spiritual direction. He has also been the pastor of Cornerstone Ministries, the United Methodist Church since 2009. Mike is a certified teacher in the state of West Virginia and a WV Licensed Graduate Social Worker. In addition, he is a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor, Advanced with the National Christian Counseling Association. Mike also serves as an adjunct professor of English at the Department of Humanities at Fairmont State University.

He holds degrees from Fairmont State University (BA, Education), West Virginia University (MA, Education and Master of Social Work), Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (MDiv and Doctor of Ministry), and Colorado Theological Seminary (PhD, Clinical Pastoral Counseling).

Rev. Valerie Biundo, MSW, LICSW

Valerie graduated from West Virginia University with her Master of Social Work in 2003 and recently graduated with her Bachelor of Theology from Restoration College International and has been appointed as Associate Pastor at Cornerstone Ministries, United Methodist Church. She has experience across various mental health settings including Chestnut Ridge hospital, in-patient and out-patient environments, private practice, and the juvenile justice system. Valerie has also served as the Director of the West Virginia Family Grief Center. She also provides supervision to social work interns. Valerie is a certified trauma therapist, an EMDR therapist, and has achieved her certificate in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for teens. Her specialties are substance abuse, grief, and trauma.  Valerie has been working with disadvantaged youth for the past 9 years in a correctional setting. 
 
Valerie provides a safe place for her clients to explore their lives, beliefs, and struggles with a non-judgmental approach. She strives to meet clients where they are and honors each client’s story by assisting them to determine how they want to live their lives and helps them to identify solutions to their problems so they can reach their goals.
